NORMA DUFFUS RITES FRIDAY

Norma Jean Duffus, 54, of 1429 Main St., Grinnell, died Tuesday evening at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral serices will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James P. Russell of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorals in Mrs. Duffus' name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The daughter of Clifford and Evy Meldrem, she was born Jan. 6, 1927, near Brooklyn. She attended Malcom schools, graduating in 1944.

On Aug. 16, 1946, she was married to Harold Duffus. Following their marriage they lived in Malcom, Gilman, Kellogg and Grinnell. Mrs. Duffus was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; three children, Michael Duffus of Newton, Connie Halsne of Des Moines and Martin Duffus of Grinnell; two sisters, Zadie Ross of Brooklyn and Merlene Whisenand of Kelley; and a brother, James Meldrem of Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
