OBITUARY

ALICE E. MELDREM

Alice E. Hull Meldrem was born April 19, 1911, at Ewart, Iowa, the daughter of James and Mona Hull. She departed this life Dec. 20, 1966, at the age of 55 years, eight months, and one day.

While still a small child, after the death of her mother, she went to live with her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Francis at Victor, Iowa. She attended both grade and high schools at Victor.

On Aug. 16, 1928, she was united in marriage with Ervie Meldrem. To this union four children, were born: Eugene of Van Meter, Mrs. Harold (Ramona) Thompson of Grinnell, Gaylord with the U.S. Air Force, and Mrs. Harold (Karen) Mason of Roland.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Meldrem had worked at various county homes in the state until ill health forced them to retire two years ago. Mrs. Meldrem had spent much time in the hospitals since then.

On Monday, Dec. 19, she was taken to a Grinnell hospital and then transferred to the University hospital at Iowa City that night. She passed away the next morning.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband; children; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Huston of Des Moines; a brother, Erliss Hull of Malcom; and other relatives and friends.
