HER FATHER ONCE OWNED THE HOTEL AT SEARSBORO

Mrs. Nellie P. Stroud of Des Moines died here Friday at the age of 68 years, two months, and 25 days, in the home of her brother, James H. Powell.

Mrs. Stroud was born in Searsboro and spent all of her childhood there. Her father, James M. Powell, was proprietor of the Searsboro hotel.

She was a teacher in the Poweshiek county schools for some years before her marriage to James Stroud of Des Moines, who died last October.

Services were held Sunday morning at the Smith funeral home, and were conducted by Professor Leo P. Sherman. She was buried in the Linn Cemetery at Linden Ia., yesterday.
