ORA M. FUERST, 92

Mrs. Ora M. Fuerst, 92, of the Mayflower Home Health Care Center in Grinnell died of congestive heart failure, on Sunday, November 9, at the Mayflower Home.

Funeral services were Thursday, November 13 at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. Herb Knudten, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church near Malcom, officiating. Organist was Mrs. Teresa Ziegenmeyer. Casket bearers were Michael Butler, Gary L. Burch, Keith Alan Sevenbergen, Keith Arnold Sevenbergen, Robert E. Sevenbergen and William B. Sevenbergen, Jr. Honorary bearers were Robert Fuerst, Robert C. Sevenbergen and William B. Sevenbergen. Burial was in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom.

Ora was the daughter of Amory and Ida Royce Burch and was born on July 4, 1905 on a farm in Pleasant Township near Malcom. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. Following her education, she assisted her parents with the home and farm operation.

She was married to John Fuerst on January 23, 1932 in Rock Island, Ill. The couple farmed near Ewart. Following the death of her husband in 1982, she moved to the Mayflower Home.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Poweshiek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Winifred Sevenbergen and two brothers, Harley and Ellsworth Burch.

Survivors include four nephews, Robert C. Sevenbergen of Huron, Ohio, William B. Sevenbergen, Sr. of Newton, Keith Arnold Sevenbergen of Leesburg, Fla. and Gary Burch of St. Louis, Mo., two nieces, Mary I. Butler of Newton and Shirley J. Choat of Bakersfield, Calif. and several great-nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
