LOUISE EWOLDT SERVICES HELD

Louise J. Ewoldt, 72, of Rte. 2, Montezuma, the widow of William H. Ewoldt, died Monday afternoon at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ewoldt were held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leland W. Mann of the Mayflower Home officiating. Music was provided by David Gerard, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Gerard, vocalists. Pallbearers were Glenn Osborn, Gordon Felper, Donald Souter, Donald Vogt, Kenneth Vogt, and Allen Wheeler. Burial was at the Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart.

The daughter of John Sheldon and Maude Elizabeth Porter Copeland, she was born June 29, 1903, in Washington Township. She attended rural schools near her family farm home.

On Dec. 18, 1926, she was married to William Henry Ewoldt in Montezuma. The couple had one daughter, Marlene. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Ewoldt farmed near Ewart for 20 years. In 1946, they moved to their farm home north of Montezuma. Mr. Ewoldt died July 21, 1971.

Mrs. Ewoldt had attended the Methodist church.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Norman (Marlene) McKee of Montezuma; two grandchildren, William R. and Patricia Anne McKee, both of Montezuma; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Maring of Rte. 3, Mrs. Gene (Florence) Neff of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Dorothy Merritt of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Sheldon Copeland of Melbourne.

Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Ewoldt's name may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department.
