LOIS FARR SERVICES HELD

Lois A. Farr, 91, a native of Grinnell, died Wednesday morning at Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac, Ill., where she had lived since 1973.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the R.J. Harris Funeral Home in Pontiac, with a nephew, the Rev. Robert G. Farr of Dexter, officiating. Burial was Friday afternoon at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of George B. and Jennie A. Thompson Farr, she was born Aug. 26, 1890, in Grinnell. She attended Grinnell schools and was a 1919 graduate of Grinnell College. She had also attended the University of Illinois at Champaign. She was a libarian in the Pontiac Township Library in Pontiac for many years and had continued to live there after her retirement.

Miss Farr had served as a secretary of the Salvation Army Board for a number of years. After helping with the development of the library at the new junior high school in Pontiac, she was honored by having the library named for her.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Pontiac, the Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

A memorial has been established with the Pontiac Public Library.
