DIES WEDNESDAY ON VISIT HERE

Mrs. Jennie Maude Jewell, 80, Chehalis, Wash., died suddenly Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oliver Peterson of 432 Park Street.

Services were held today (Monday) at the Smith Funeral Home with Rev. C.E. Kingsley of the First Baptist church officiating. Vocal music was by Loring Rohr, with Mrs. Rhee Auman at the organ. Pallbearers were Webb Anderson, Gene Campbell, Bill Doud, Bob King, Earl Peterson and Russell Peterson.

Services will also be held on Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Everly, Iowa. Burial will be in Lone Tree cemetery at Everly.

The daughter of Jennie Dunton and Lyman Tuttle, she was born August 19, 1879, in Poweshiek county. She received her early education in the Madison Township rural schools.

She was united in marriage with Jay Jewell and to this union were born one son and five daughters: Allen Jewell of Chehalis, Wash.; Mrs. Oliver (Cora) Peterson and Mrs. Viola Doud, both of Grinnell; Mrs. Pearl Doty of Brooklyn; Mrs. Harry (Lucy) Matthiesen of Chehalis, Wash.; and Mrs. Ed (Thelma) Wischnesky of Napavine, Wash.

Mrs. Jewell had been in Grinnell only eight days, coming to visit her daughter and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, and four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sons and five daughters and four brothers.
