MRS. WALLACE MEMORIAL SET

Violette R. Wallace, 67, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday at Phoenix.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James P. Russell of the United Methodist Church officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner.

Mrs. Wallace's body was cremated and her ashes will be buried at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Frank and Sena Cordes Lundy, she was born on March 4, 1914, at Gilmore City. She attended school there, graduating from Gilmore City High School.

On May 9, 1936, she married Elven B. Wallace at Webster City. The couple lived in Vancouver, Wash., until moving to Grinnell in 1950. They owned and operated the By-Lo grocery store here, and Mrs. Wallace later worked for John C. DeMeulenaere, M.D., here. Following her husband's death in 1974, she lived at Rock Rapids and had spent the past three months in Phoenix.

Survivors include two sons, Larry A. Wallace of Rock Rapids and Eugene D. Wallace of Phoenix; two grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Green of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Lowell Lundy.
