MRS. FRANCES ANGER

Funeral of One of Grinnell's Good Women was Held This Afternoon

Frances Adelaide Powers was born in Aylmer, Ontario, Nov. 21, 1842, and died at her home on Summer St., Grinnell, Iowa, May 21, 1922, at the age of 79 years and 6 months.

On June 12, 1860, she was married to Dr. G.W. Anger at Aylmer, Ont., where they resided until 1868 when they moved to Brooklyn, Iowa, making their home there until 1895 when they located in Grinnell, Iowa. To this union were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy. She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Miss Delma Anger of Grinnell, Iowa, Mrs. H.M. Dalzell of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. H.T. Ports of Hartwick, Dr. A.E. Anger of Brooklyn and Dr. H.W. Anger of Victor. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Dr. Northrup of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Philip Moser of Sidney, Ohio, besides eight grand-children to mourn her loss.

In early girlhood she united with the Baptist church in Aylmer, but became a member of the Methodist church of Brooklyn on removal to that city. She took active part in church work as a charter member of the Foreign Missionary Society and served as organist for many years, remaining faithful to all church work until ill health prevented. Later she became a member of the Methodist of Grinnell and although unable to assume the burdens of active work in the chruch she never lost interest in the work of the Kingdom. Her kindly Christian spirit gained through years of service for the Master endeared her to her friends and neighbors and all who knew her mourn her sincerely.

The funeral was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the home conducted by Rev. J.W. Poole of Brooklyn and the body was taken to Brooklyn for burial.
