MRS. JACOB CARR CALLED BY DEATH

Mrs. Jacob Carr, passed away in Marshalltown Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 7 days. For many years she was a resident of Searsboro and was well known and respected in that community. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Louise Binegar of Grinnell, Mrs. Ethel Beason of this city and one son, A.W. Carr of Marshalltown.

Following is the obituary as it was read at the funeral services Friday by the Rev. E.W. Gregson.

Sarah C. Swickard, daughter of Martin and Catherine Swickard was born in Franklin county, Ohio, July 14, 1842 and passed away Sept. 21, 1927, aged 85 years, 2 months and 7 days.

She was united in marriage with Jacob Carr Nov. 11th, 1865, who preceded her in death on December 6th, 1925.

To this union was born five children, Louise Binegar of Grinnell, Ethel Beason of Montezuma, A.E. Carr of Marshalltown and two others having died in infancy.

Funeral services were held in the Christian Church at Montezuma, Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. E.W. Gregson, burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

There are left to mourn her passing, two daughters, one son, twenty-two grand children and a host of friends.--Montezuma Republican.
