MRS. C.A. PETERSON DIES ON THURSDAY

A long and blameless life, devoted to good work and loving family cares, reached its close when Mrs. Charles A. Peterson passed away at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at her home a mile north of Grinnell on No. 146. Her death was due to chronic heart trouble and she had been failing in health for some time.

Funeral services according to present plans will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clcok from the Grinnell Methodist church, conducted by Rev. H.L. Wissler of Chester.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by her worthy husband and four children, Mrs. Anna Rohr of Onaka, S.D.; Edwin Peterson of Madison, S.D.; John Peterson at home, and Gilmore Peterson of Grinnell. Three children died in infancy.

Mrs. Peterson was born June 7, 1859, at Vitlanda, Sweden, the daughter of August Hjelte and his wife, Anna. She was married to Charles Peterson in Illinois Nov. 17, 1881, and some years later the family moved to Grinnell. They have been honored and respected residents of this community for 4? years.

On Nov. 17 last, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, an occasion of happiness to all their family and wide circle of friends.

In addition to the children, the following grandchildren survive: Mabel, Harry, Elsie, Marvin, Roy, Frances and Mamie Etta Rohr, children of Mr. and Mrs. Ch?? Rohr of Onaka, S.D.; Betty Jean Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peterson of Madison, S.D. and Ruth and Raymond Peterson, children of Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore Peterson of Grinnell.
