CHARLES C. JONES

Charles Columbus Jones was born in Sidney, New York, March 30, 1838, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Jones. His mother's maiden name was Hannah Williams. Both parents were natives of New York state.

In early boyhood Mr. Jones came to Iowa with his parents. On January 10, 1863, he was united in marriage to Mary A. Winans. Eight children were born to them, four boys and four girls, of whom two sons, Charles O., and George A., have passed away.

Mr. Jones passed away at about 7 o'clock in the morning of Nov. 28, 1912, aged 74 years, 7 months and 28 days.

He was a loving husband, a kind father and a good neighbor. All who knew him mourn his loss.

The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon from the residence on south High street. Rev. L.D. Weyand, pastor of th Baptist church, conducted the services. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.
