FLOYD LAGRANGE FUNERAL FRIDAY

Floyd H. LaGrange, 69, of 723 State St., Grinnell, died Tuesday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital East.

The son of Judd and Emma Curtis LaGrange, he was born on Feb. 4, 1900, in Grinnell. He attended the Grinnell schools and later married Vera Leota Martin on Aug. 3, 1918, in Grinnell.

They were the parents of four children, two of whom survive--Mrs. Ernest (Coleen) Allen of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Mrs. Rex (Lorita) Vitera of Waterloo.

Mr. LaGrange was employed for a number of years by the Maytag Company in Newton and Winpower. He also worked at the Solar Aircraft Co. in Des Moines.

For the past 16 years he had been associated with the Berman Brothers Salvage Yard in Grinnell.

In 1946 his wife died, and on July 16, 1951, he was married to Frances Mitchell in Des Moines. They continued to make their home in Grinnell.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters; his stepson, Glenn S. Oliver of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rubie Anderson of Des Moines, Mrs. Elsie King of Grinnell and Mrs. William F. (Marjory) Lacy of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his first wife; two sons, Judd G. LaGrange in 1964 and Bernard Dean LaGrange in infancy; and two sisters, Mrs. Millie Grubb and Mrs. Addie Spears.

Funeral services for Mr. LaGrange will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Eugene Young, minister of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Willard Heffner, organist, and Mrs. Mac Molison, vocalist. Pallbearers will include Isadore Berman, Van E. Davis, George W. Johnson, Virgil Matteson, Oliver Peterson, and Jess Routier.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
