ROBERT REVELL RITES TUESDAY

Robet Revell, 77, of Rte. 1, Montezuma, died Saturday at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Revell will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russell K. Boersma, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Leonard Pearce. Pallbearers will be Leon Wright, Marion Johnson, Lauren James, Michael Johnson, Keith Johnson and Roger Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheldon Wright, Michael Lura and Rex Johnson.

Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Joseph F. and Minta Alma Jones Revell, he was born Aug. 14, 1897, in Adelphi. He attended Adelphi public schools. When he was seven, his family moved to Bovina, Colo., and he attended Bovina public schools.

On Sept. 1, 1918, he was married to Ethel May Hulbert in Villard, Minn. The couple had four children. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Revell made their home in Maxwell, Montpelier, N.D., Westport, Minn., and Grinnell. Mr. Revell was a carpenter. Mrs. Revell died July 6, 1961, and Mr. Revell moved to Montezuma, where he made his home with his daughter, Velma.

Survivors include his four children, Mrs. Warren (Velma) James of Rte. 1, Montezuma, Mrs. Raymond (Ada) Johnson of Montezuma, Ethel Wright of Grinnell, and Robert Revell Jr. of Newton; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Homer Revell of Newton; two half-brothers, John and Raymond Spencer of Seattle, Wash.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Violet Pugh of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; his parents; two half-sisters, Nancy Kuhnley, who died in 1973 and Nancy's twin, who died in infancy; one granddaughter, Carol Beth Johnson; and two great-grandsons, Wesley David and Scott Reid Johnson.
