STEPHEN R. SATCHELL WAS BURIED MONDAY

Stephen R. Satchell, son of Joseph and Nancy Satchell was born in Mahaska County, Iowa, June 9, 1850. The family moved to a farm near Montezuma in an early day and to Grinnell some years later.

In 1877 Stephen went to Sac Co., Iowa, where he followed farming. He was united in marriage to Myrtilla Johnson, February 19th, 1885. The spring of 1894 they moved to Odebolt and engaged in the livery business. In April 1909 they moved to Galva, Ia., and were in the mercantile business five years and later moved to Storm Lake, Iowa.

The fall of 1923, Mr. and Mrs. Satchell moved to Orlando, Florida, where he passed away February 4th, 1925.

Those left to mourn, beside the widow are two brothers, L.W. Satchell, Riverside, Cal.; and Mrs. M.N. Satchell, Stilwell, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Whittaker, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Katherine Rehder, of Grinnell. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Mrs. Rehder, by Rev. W.J. Todd, of the Methodist Episcopal church.

Mrs. W.J. Todd and Mr. D.C. Phillips sang "Lead Kindly Light" and "Face To Face."

Mr. Satchell was a member of Wheeler Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Odebolt, Iowa. Hermon Lodge No. 273, A.F. & A.M. took charge.

The pall bearers, members of the Masonic Order, were M.N. Paul, C.W. Kisler, G.E. Huglin, A. Peterson of Odebolt, W.J. Howard, of Schaller, and E.C. Fuller of Early, Iowa. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Stella Johnson and son, Orville, of Storm Lake, Mrs. A. Treadway, Estherville, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Bailey, Schaller, and L.W. Shaw,of Early, Iowa.
