MYRL STEPHENSON

Myrl C. Stephenson, 60, of Montezuma died Saturday, April 15, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted April 18 at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. Warren James, pastor of the Montezuma Regular Baptist Church, officiating. Soloist was Jarold Greene, and organist was Kathleen Ramsey. Pallbearers were Mike Hasley, Wayne Hasley, Eldon Snook, Harold Ver Steegt, Keith Snook and Chris Wray.

Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery.

The son of Clarence and Florence Mattson Stephenson, he was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Trenton, Mich. He was married to Grace Wittrup May 28, 1955, in Grinnell. They lived north of Malcom before moving to Montezuma 18 years ago.

Mr. Stephenson drove a truck for 26 years, 18 of which were with Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. of Grinnell. He served on the board of directors of Sunnyview Apartments in Montezuma. He attended the Montezuma Regular Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; four children, Donna Rose Stephenson of Wingate, Ind., Ann Stephenson of Grinnell, Richard of Montour and Matt of Glenwood; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Clara Scott of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
