ALICE ANN WITTRUP

Alice Ann Wittrup, 89, of Ely, Minn., a native of Searsboro and a former Grinnell-area resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Ely Bloomenson Nursing Home.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Kerntz Funeral Chapel in Ely, with burial in Ely Cemetery.

She was born in Searsboro Oct. 29, 1905, the daughter of Jake and Bessie Rivers. She was married to Walter Wittrup in Elk River, Minn., in 1924. They lived in and around Grinnell until 1961 when they moved to Ely.

Mrs. Wittrup is survived by two sons, Kenneth Dean and James Ronald, both of Ely; three daughters, Laura Wittrup and Mildred Potter, both of Ely, and Grace Stephenson of Montezuma; two sisters, Elizabeth Thompson of Texas and Cleora Kramer of Marshalltown; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; twin daughters in infancy; and one son, Carl of Grinnell.
