MRS. CRAWFORD RITES TODAY

Roxie D. Crawford, 82, of Lakeside Court, died Thursday at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Crawford will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Myron Harris, pastor of the Northside Friends Church, officiating. Music will be provided by Kathleen Heffner, organist and Jean Thompson and Donald Turner, vocalists.

Pallbearers will be Delbert D. Crawford, Max Crawford Jr., Ronald Crawford, Steven D. Crawford, Kenneth Kramer, and Gene Morrison.

Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of C.B. and Rebecca Centers Anderson, she was born June 15, 1895, in a log cabin near Livonia, Mo. She attended schools near her home.

On Dec. 21, 1912, she was married to John M. Crawford at Lancaster, Mo. The couple had three children.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Crawford farmed near Oskaloosa for several years, then returned to Putnam County, Mo., to farm. They moved to Grinnell in 1924 and had lived here since.

Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Northside Friends Church and the Grandmothers Club.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Paul (Neita) Banta, Max M. Crawford, and Delbert D. Crawford, all of Grinnell; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nigel Anderson of Grinnell and Cloyd Anderson of Mitchellville; and two sisters, Mrs. Naomi Thompson of Grinnell and Mrs. Neva Peck of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her husband in 1965; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lem, Roy and Floyd Anderson; and one sister, Mrs. Flossie Thompson.
