HAROLD W. BUCK

Harold William Buck, 82, of Grinnell died Sunday, Sept. 24, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conductred Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nolan Kelsey, pastor of the Assemsbly of God Church of Newton, officiating. Organsit was Ann Buchmeier and vocalists were Ben and Marla Crawford and Raymond Brown.

Pallbearers were Ed, Al, Jim, Tom and Fred Buck and Mike Stark. Honorary bearers were Cecil Brim, Raymond Brown, Kenton Elliott, Keith Paulson, Lawrence Sleeuwenhoek and Vern Weaver.

Burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery.

The son of Ben and Bertha Turnbull Buck, he was born June 8, 1913, on the family farm west of Grinnell. He received his education in the Grinnell School District, graduating in 1930.

He was married to Alta A. Ryan Sept. 30, 1939, in Tabor. He farmed on his family's "century farm" for 61 years.

Surviving are his wife; his children, Ernest of Iowa City, Edwin of Lakeland, Fla., James of Lake Charles, La., Thomas of Richmond, Texas, Fred of Kellogg and Kathryn Stark of Bakersfield, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Finch.
