RITES HELD FOR MRS. PARMLEY

Minnie C. Parmley, 84, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died of a stroke Wednesday, March 26, at her home.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Brown of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner, and vocalist was Ed Bohstedt. Pallbearers were Harold Jantzen, Kenneth Jantzen, Wilbur Osland, Daniel Parmley, Melvin Puls and Ronald Silhanek. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Frederick and Catherine Hink Jantzen, she was born Nov. 4, 1901, in Chester Township north of Grinnell. She attended school in Chester Township.

On June 9, 1926, she was married to Jerome Parmley in Newton. The couple farmed in Rock Creek Township, Jasper County.

Mrs. Parmley is survived by her husband; two daughters, Ruth Fleener of Rte. 1, Grinnell, and Marlene Parmley of Rte. 1; two sisters, Stella Silhanek of Chelsea and Edna Hayek of Belle Plaine; and two brothers, Leonard Jantzen of Tama and Clifford Jantzen of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Esther Osland and Hilda Puls; and one brother, Wilbur Jantzen.
