RAYMOND KIBBEE

Raymond L. Kibbee, formerly of Brooklyn and Sigourney, died June 30. Services were at Cedar Bible Church, Cedar Falls, July 5, with Rev. David J. Holm officiating.

Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Escorts were: Jack Ainsworth, Ronald Scoles, Honorary Escort, Cliff Bowman, Doug Smith, Dick Schroeder, Art Springer, Don L. "Brownie" Brown.

Raymond was born May 15, 1918 in Poweshiek County, the son of Robert and Emma Harris Kibbee. He married Lillie Bell Bird on Dec. 19, 1939 in Montezuma.

He was employed in the hydraulic maintenance department of the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 33 years retiring in 1977.

Ray is survived by his wife, Lillie; three sons, Larry, Kenneth, and Rick all of Waterloo; four daughters, Betty Salisbury of Dunkerton, Eleanor "Ellie" Pierce of Cedar Falls, Mary Hurley of Waterloo and Dixie Athey of Cedar Falls; one sister, Elnora Miller of Naples, Florida; 29 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe Hasele; one brother, Edmund; one son, Staff Sgt. William L. Kibbee; and two grandchildren.
