JAMES H. MULLINS
James H. Mullins, 82, of Grinnell died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date at Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hazelwood Cemetery Landscaping Fund and sent in care of Smith Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Putnam County, Missouri, to Jesse and Myrtle Abbot Mullins. He came to Grinnell as a young boy and graduated from Grinnell High School. He served with the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He was married on May 15, 1947, to Clarice Wittenburg in Grinnell. The couple resided here where he worked in the buildings and grounds department of Grinnell-Newburg Schools for 39 years.
He is survived by his wife Clarice Mullins of Grinnell; one son Scott Mullins of Council Bluffs; two daughters Linda Mullins and Cynthia Little, both of Grinnell; three grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one brother Edwin Mullins of Phoenix, Ariz., and two sisters, Dorothy Hill of Brandenburg, Ky., and Mary Park of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Samuel and Cleo Mullins and one sister Leta Rasmussen.
