J.B. Heisel reports a sad ending to their otherwise pleasant Thanksgiving trip to Fairfield. That evening they were returning home with Mrs. Heisel's sister, Mrs. E.H. Meneely, to spend the night, but when within three doors of her beautiful home in Fairfield Mrs. Meneely succumbed to a stroke of apoplexy and though she lived thirty-eight hours never regained consciousness. Mr. Heisel and family, with all of her brothers and sisters and all Mr. Meneely's relatives but one brother were present at the funeral on the 27th. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Osburn of Mt. Pleasant, at the Meneely home.
