THELMA CORBETT

Thelma Corbett, 84, of Grinnell died of congestive heart failure Saturday, Nov. 11, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Grinnell First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Stewart officiating. Organist will be Denise Baustian, and soloist will be Marty Duffus.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Cirks, Michael Ellis, David and Rick Fleener, Peter Kitundu and Kory Robison. Honorary bearers will be Harold Brown, Donovan Evans, Dennis Fleener, James North and Howard Raffety. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Jess and Millie Todd Sinclair, she was born Jan. 29, 1916, in Corydon. She was raised in Corydon and was a 1933 graduate of Corydon High School.

She moved to Grinnell in 1940 and was employed as a bookkeeper for Swift Hatchery. She later worked for Drs. Brobyn and Korfmacher for several years.

She was married to Clarence D. Corbett Sept. 19, 1944, in Grinnell.

Mrs. Corbett was a member of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, the church's Martha Circle and Royal Neighbors. She had been a resident of Friendship Manor since October of this year.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Shutts of Grinnell; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, James; and eight brothers and sisters.
