RITES TUESDAY FOR KIBBEES

Funeral services for Jimmie Lee and Mary Elizabeth Kibbee, who died Friday in a two-car accident near Brooklyn, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene here, with the Rev. James Turner, pastor of the church, officiating.

Music will be provided by Mrs. Ralph Brown, organist, and Gordon Van Donselaar, vocalist. Pallbearers will be Greg Austin, Mike Hauersperger, Kenny McCulley, Clifford McWhorter, Jim Mulligan and Richard Wheeler.

Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie Lee Kibbee was born Oct. 13, 1954, in Grinnell, the son of Harold J. and Frances I. McDonald Kibbee. Mary Elizabeth was born July 11, 1957, the daughter of Earl W. and Dorothy J. Walker Carmer.

He attended Brooklyn public schools, and she attended Grinnell public schools and North Mahaska High School.

They were married on May 13, 1974. The couple had one daughter, Sheri Elizabeth. They attended the Church of the Nazarene in Grinnell.

Survivors include their daughter Sheri; her parents of New Sharon; his parents of Brooklyn; her four brothers and two sisters, Pvt. Warren E. Carmer with the U.S. Army in Germany, Bonnie L., Jack L., Earl L., Rick L., and Nancy L., Carmer, all of New Sharon; his two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Deborah A.) Gabrielson, Jeri Dean, Eddie Raymond and Connie L. Kibbee, all of Brooklyn; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Beatrice E. McDonald of Malcom; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Kibbee of Brooklyn. They were preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Fae Carmer; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Walker; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vinton Carmer; and his two grandfathers, Edmund Kibbee and Elmer McDonald.
