LOVELL W. CARVER

Services for Lovell W. Carver of Deep River were conducted by Pastor Kenneth Wagener at Calvary Lutheran Church Dec. 15. Music was provided by vocalist Betty Snook and organist Diane Wilcox. Casket bearers were Jeff Carver, Rick Brennan, Keith Icenbice, Kevin Kudart, Tom McCulley and Randy McCulley. Burial was in Springfield Cemetery south of What Cheer.

Carver, 71, died Dec. 12, 1986, at Mahaska Hospital, Oskaloosa.

The son of Ronald and Amy Gillaspie Carver, he was born May 23, 1915, at Barnes City. He was married to Helen Acord March 28,1940, at Lancaster, Mo. They farmed east of Deep River before moving to their farm near Bussey. He was custodian at Twin Cedars School for ten years. They raised five children. They returned to Deep River to live 2 years ago. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; a son and his wife, Ted and Marna Kudart of Montezuma; three daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Harlen McCulley of Brooklyn, Carolyn and Robert Brennan and Patricia and Richard Icenbice, all of Deep River; his mother, Amy Carver of Deep River; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Evans of Deep River; and two half brothers, John Carver and Donald Carver, both of Oklahoma.

Watts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Ronald W. Carver, in 1970.
