FERN BUHR MILLER, 76

Fern Buhr Miller, 76, of Grinnell, died on Monday, November 21, 2005, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Malcom, with Rev. Herb Knudten, pastor of the church, officiating. Music will be provided by Teresa Ziegenmeyer, organist and Rev. Herb Knudten, vocalist. Casket bearers will be Ronald and Larry Parker, James and Mark Davidson, Bruce Gerstma, and Leroy Locker. Honorary bearers will be Dorothy Downey, Paul and Fred Rehberg, and James Miller II and Jerred Miller. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born on June 12, 1929, at the family home in Sheridan Township, Poweshiek County, to Harry and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Jochims Rehberg. She was raised in the Grinnell and Malcom area, attended rural school, and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1946.

On June 20, 1948, she was married to Lloyd W. Buhr at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Grinnell. The couple lived in Grinnell, and she worked for the Ben Franklin store and the Midwest Stamping Company in Kellogg. She retired in 1986. Following the death of her husband she was married to James Miller.

She enjoyed traveling, auctions, photography and shopping.

She is survived by her husband, James Miller of Grinnell; her step children, Barbara (Frank) Webster of Gilman, Kelly (Deb) Miller of Galesburg, Sean (Nancy) Miller of Grinnell, and Colby Miller of Colorado Springs, Colo.; several step grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Davidson of Brooklyn, Garnet Gertsma of Lynnville, and Nancy Locker of Grinnell; and two brothers, Harold Rehberg of Blairstown, and Marion Rehberg of Mesa, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1992; her parents; and one sister, Doris Parker.
