LLOYD W. BUHR

Lloyd W. Buhr, 66, of 1406 Prince St., Grinnell, died Monday, Dec. 7, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Arvid Dixen, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Organist was Teresa Ziegenmeyer, and pallbearers were James Davidson, Mark Davidson, Leroy Locker, Ronald Parker, Keith Davidson, Bruce Gertsma, Larry Parker, Frederick Rehberg and Paul Rehberg.

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in Mr. Buhr's name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

The son of Herman and Sophia Miller Buhr, he was born May 26, 1926, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools. Following his education he worked at the Grinnell Shoe Co. and for area construction companies. He also worked for Midwest Stamping Co. of Kellogg. For 39 years he worked in the shipping department of Maytag Co. in Newton.

Mr. Buhr was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and United Auto Workers Union Local 997 of Newton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Fern of Grinnell, and two sisters, Marie Buhr and Betty Brand, both of Grinnell.
