BOYD LOCKER SERVICES SET

Boyd W. Locker, 71, of 503 East St., Grinnell, died at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Douglas Harding, associate pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by members of Hermon Masonic Lodge.

Memorials in Mr. Locker's name may be made to the United Methodist Church or to the Shrine Children's Hospital and left at the funeral home.

The son of Charles L. and Minnie Mae Wright Locker, he was born Nov. 5, 1911, near Coatsville, Mo. He left Missouri at the age of 5 and came to Grinnell in 1948.

He was a graduate of Bussey High School. On July 29, 1934, he was married to Genevieve Davis at Melcher. Mr. Locker served as chief mechanic for the Grinnell Motor Co. for 33 years.

He was a past master of the Hermon Lodge No. 273 of Grinnell, a past officer of the Royal Arch Masons, and council and commander of Kaaba Shrine of Davenport. He was also a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

Mr. Locker is survived by his wife; one son, Daryl B. Locker of Roswell, N.M.; five grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Bogaard of Grimes; and a brother, Kenneth R. Locker of Bussey. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith, and two brothers, Paul and Max Locker.
