OBITUARY

LEONARD JAMES ROBISON

Leonard James Robison passed away of a heart ailment Aug. 31, 1953, at his home one mile west of Grinnell at the age of 70 years, 4 months, 18 days.

He was the son of James Oliver and Mary Bopes Robison of Rock Island, Ill., who moved with the deceased at the age of 10 years to a farm near Gilman where Leonard spent his boyhood days and attended school.

In 1909 he was united in marriage to Rose Keenan, locating in the home where he passed away.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Alice Bates, Newton; and Mrs. Lennice Porter, Grinnell; also a son James Jr. of this city; seven grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. C.L. Cole and Mrs. Gertrude Hunter, Grinnell; Mrs. Floyd Garver, El Centro, Calif.; Lewis Robison, Grinnell, and John W. Robison, Des Moines.

Preceding him were his parents, two sisters, Etta and Blanche, and a brother Sydney.

Funeral services were held at the James funeral home Sept. 2, 1953. Those from out of town attending were Mrs. Lola Stonebrook, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Conrad Kaisand, Tama; Mr. and Mrs. Omar Thompkins, Davenport; Lee Parmenter, Tama; Mr. and Mrs. Geoarge Parmenter, Minnesota; Mr and Mrs. Claire Hutchison, Malcom.
