WILMA BREESE DIES IN CALIF.

Wilma Pearl Couper Breese, 66, of San Jose, Calif., and formerly of Grinnell, died early Wednesday morning, July 16, 1975 at O'Conner Hospital in San Jose.

The daughter of William A. and Lillie Aldrich Couper, Mrs. Breese was born Sept. 16, 1908 in Grinnell. She attended Grinnell public schools.

Mrs. Breese lived in Oklahoma with her family for a few years in her early childhood and then returned to Grinnell. She was married to Harold T. Breese in Newton on Feb. 8, 1928. To this marriage two children, Donald and Carol, were born.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Breese farmed south of Grinnell and later farmed west of Montezuma. They moved to Grinnell in 1943. Mrs. Breese worked at the Ben Franklin Store and R & J Fabric for 15 years until her health failed. Mr. Breese was co-owner of the John Deere Store and later Massey-Ferguson Implement in Grinnell. The couple moved to California in 1974.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; her two children--Donald Lee Breese of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Vernon (Carol) Gibson of Prudenville, Mich.; two grandchildren--Clinton Jay Gibson and Susan Gay Gibson, both of Prudenville; seven sisters and brothers--Mrs. Emma Petersen Diehl of Mansfield, Mo., Mrs. Verna Lunn and Mrs. Zoniema Buchmeier of Grinnell; Albert Couper of Lacona; Richard D. Couper of Newton, Mrs. Harry (Ilo) Muselman of Sedalia, Mo.; and James Couper of Newton; two uncles--Ernest Couper of Spirit Lake; and Dee Aldrich of Okemah, Okla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Mrs. Harold Breese will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 21, at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. John McCallum, minister of the Grinnell United Methodist church, officiating.

Burial will be made in the West Liberty Cemetery west of Montezuma, Iowa.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
