FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. CELIA CAIN

Celia F. Cain, age 97, of the Malcom Community and one of Poweshiek County's oldest residents died Thursday morning at the Grinnell Hospital following an illness of the past few months.

Mrs. Cain was born on January 15, 1871 at Millsprings, Ky. She received her education in this community in Kentucky and was a school teacher there for 13 years.

On May 5, 1905, she was married to John E. Cain at Millsprings, Ky., and in 1919 they moved to Iowa and settled in the Malcom community, where they farmed and lived the remainder of their lives.

Mrs. Cain was a member of the Malcom Presbyterian Church, and previous to her transfer of membership she was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Ketzback of Des Moines, her son, Frank O. Cain of Washington, D.C., five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her husband in March, 1957; four sisters, and two brothers. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cain were Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home. The Rev. James Davidson officiated.

Organist was Mrs. Leonard Pearce. Pallbearers were Carl Butler, Stanley Ahrens, Fred Beck, Ronald Butler, Willis Butler and Donald Ahrens.

Burial was in the Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom, Iowa.
