WOMAN DIES IN ACCIDENT

A rural Brooklyn woman died May 21 of injuries she sustained in a two-car accident northeast of Brooklyn.

Pearl Lucille Doty, 80, was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Authorities said Doty was northbound on a county road when she pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Michael Jones of Newton.

Jones' wife Linda and their two children, Angela and Brian, were treated at Grinnell General Hospital and released.

No charges were filed.
