RITES HELD

Mrs. Leota Evans, the wife of Ray Evans of Brooklyn, died Monday morning in Loveland, Colo., where she was spending the winter months with her husband.

The daughter of Edgar and Elizabeth Hicks Bowes, she was born in Reynolds, Ill. She was married to Ray Evans in Davenport Dec. 12, 1917, and the couple moved to Brooklyn following their marriage.

Mrs. Evans had worked for the Butts and Reiche Food Market and for the United Food Market. She had also worked as a receptionist for two Brooklyn physicians. She was a mebmer of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roland Bowes.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, with the Rev. E. Edward Philgreen, former pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn, and James Ross, pastor of the West Liberty Church of Christ in Montezuma, officiating.

Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brooklyn.
