DORA FRAHM RITES SATURDAY

Dora Frahm, 88, of Tama, a former resident of Poweshiek County, died Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Bethesda Care Center in Tama.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Tama, with the Rev. Alfred Kaupins officiating. Pallbearers were Russell Backen, John Frahm, Ronald Steuhm, Arthur Timm, Gerald Timm and David Timm. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery in rural Tama, with the Harrison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Henry and Anna Kroll Rehberg, she was born March 6, 1897, in Boyden. She attended rural schools in Poweshiek County.

On Feb. 16, 1916, she was married to Henry P.J. Frahm at the home of her parents south of Grinnell. The couple farmed in Sheridan Township before moving to Tama in 1951. Mrs. Frahm had been a resident of the Bethesda Care Center since 1983.

She taught Sunday School at St. John Lutheran Church for 20 years and organized the girls' 4-H club in Sheridan Township. She was a professional seamstress. She was a member of St. John ALCW and was active in the Maple Grove Cemetery Association.

Survivors include her husband Henry; three daughters, Henrietta Kerner of Rock Island, Ill.; Florence Wallisa of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mathilda Wade of rural Grinnell; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie S. Timm of Tama and Betty McCormick of Loveland, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Albert.
