MRS. REHBERG PASSES

Former Resident of This County Died Recently Near Green Mountain.

INTERMENT IN MAPLE GROVE CEMETERY, TAMA

Mrs. Rehberg Made Her Home for Many Years in Poweshiek County.

Anna Catherine Rehberg nee Krall was born August 2nd, 1875 in Heide, Germany. In her childhood she received the sacrament of holy baptism and on Palm Sunday, March 9, 1889, she was confirmed. She remained in her parental home until she journeyed to America, April 9th, 1896, with Henry Rehberg. They came to Malcom, Ia. There they remained and wedded on May 19, 1896. From here they moved to Boyden, Iowa, where they united with the church of their choice, the German Lutheran. In 1902 Mr. and Mrs. Rehberg moved back to Malcom and united with the rural Trinity Lutheran church, of which they remained members until now.

Anna Rehberg was a faithful and loving wife and a noble mother to her family. About two years ago she contracted a malignant disease, from which she could not recover. She endured extreme pain and at times hardly endurable. But with the help of God what loving hands and hearts could administer to ease her suffering was done to the utmost. With Christian patience and fortitude she bore bravely to the end.

Last spring relatives and friends autoed to Green Mountain, Ia., to help Mr. and Mrs. Rehberg celebrate their silver anniversary. It was then Mrs. Rehberg had no hope of recovery from cancer of the throat.

Best of all was her clear testimony to her acceptance of God, and consecration amidst the severest trial. She knew the Lord and He was with her. In due season she chose her own funeral text. Her Grinnell and Malcom friends and visitors were always welcome. To all she gave clear testimony of her submission to God's will, to suffer patiently until relieved. Finally after six months of patient waiting, the summons came and she quietly went home to meet her Lord. She passed away Mar. 7th at 10 o'clock in the forenoon in their late home north of Green Mountain.

She leaves to mourn her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Dora Frahm and Mrs. Mary Timm of Tama, and Hazel and a son, Albert. A mother and two sisters also survive her, living in Germany, and two sisters in Sioux county, Iowa.

Funeral srvices were held at 9:00 o'clock March 9th, Thursday, for the mourners at Green Mountain, and the final church services were held at 1 o'clock that day by Rev. O. Biermann. Text: Psalm 4:8. The attendance was large at both places. Interment was made at Maple Grove cemetery, Tama.
