OBITUARY.--Mrs. Mary Schultz died, Monday April 3, 1899, at 1:30 p.m., at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Chas. Eisele. The deceased, Mary Rehberg was born in Germany Jan. 26, 1823, where she grew to womanhood, and was twice married. Her first husband died, leaving her a widow with her children. She came to America in the spring of 1867, when she was united in marriage to Christopher C. Schultz of Malcom township, who departed this life May 2, 1894. She lived on the old home place about two years, and has since lived with her children, mostly with Mrs. Eisele. She united with the Lutheran church when quite young, and has lived a quiet, unselfish life. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her children, friends and neighbors. She has been in feeble health for years, but the past winter she gradually grew weaker until the last six weeks she was confined to her bed. She lived for those she loved, always thinking and planning for their comfort and happiness, and they have tried to repay her by doing all that loving hands from children could do. But at last, the Angel of Death closed those weary eyes in the sleep that knows no waking on this side of the grave. She leaves two daughters and two sons to mourn her departure, besides hosts of friends.

The funeral services were held in the Lutheran church Wednesday p.m. conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.F. Reinsch, when the remains were quietly laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives. Those attending the funeral from abroad, were Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Schultz, of Reasnor, Chas. Mehlin and wife, Joel Stewart and wife, George Booknau and daughter of Grinnell.
