CARL TOKLE SERVICES SET

Carl M. Tokle, 73, of Park Place, Grinnell, died early Wednesday morning at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Russell officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in Mr. Tokle's name may be made to the American Lung Association.

The son of Bert and Caroline Andersen Tokle, he was born Oct. 27, 1909, at Witten, S.D. He moved with his family to the Grinnell area in 1912, attending rural school and later attending Grinnell schools.

On May 26, 1934, he was married to Marie Eriksen at Nashau. Following their marriage, they farmed in Washington Township southeast of Grinnell, moving to Montezuma in 1962.

Mr. Tokle worked for the Iowa Crop Improvement Association as a field inspector. He was a member of the Washington Township Board of Trustees and School Board, the A.S.C.S. Committee, the Poweshiek County Bean Producers Association, and helped organize the Poweshiek County Swine Production Association. He was also a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; two children, Charlotte Romp of Ellsworth and Ray Tokle of rural Grinnell; six grandchildren; and one sister, Annetta Johnson of Modesto, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Anna Tokle; and one brother, Ole Tokle.
