RED DAVIS WAS KILLED IN FRANCE AUGUST THIRD
Official Word Came This Morning to Grandmother.
Graduated From Monte High in 1943. Good Athlete and Popular.
The sad news came this morning to Mrs. Mary Snook that her grandson, Pvt. Eldon (Red) Davis, had been killed in France August 3rd. No details were given, but that more information would follow. Mrs. Snook received a wire late in August stating that Eldon was missing in action. No other word had come until this morning.
Pvt. Davis graduated from the Montezuma High in 1943 and was popular. He played high school football and took part in other activities. He was a fine elegant young man of much promise.
Besides his grandmother, Mrs. Snook, Red leaves his father, William Davis, now in Powell's Station, Tenn., and three brothers, Vern of this city, Ferrel of Phoenix, Ariz., and Forrest in England with the armed forces.
