MRS. MARY SNOOK FUNERAL MAY 25

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Snook were said Tuesday, May 25th, at 2 o'clock from the Presbyterian Church with Rev. C. Raymond Olander in charge.

Mrs. Fred Hubbard and Marilyn Hubbard sang "Abide With Me" and Marilyn Hubbard sang "Beyond the Sunset"; they were accompanied on the organ by Earl Brown.

Casketbearers were Art Dryden, Ben Purdum, James McCormick, Howard Thompson, Edward Inman and Rene Van Tomme.

Interment was in the IOOF cemetery at Brooklyn.

OBITUARY

Mary Alice, daughter of John and Sarah Gilbreaith, was born in Poweshiek County on October 10, 1873, and passed away in the Community Hospital in Grinnell on May 22, 1954, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 12 days.

On February 15, 1893, she was united in marriage with Mark Snook. To this union eleven children were born. After the death of their daughter, Elsie, they made a home for her four sons, the youngest was only 8 months old.

Their entire married life was spent on farms near Montezuma. In 1945, after the death of Mr. Snook, she moved to Monezuma.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Mark; three daughters, Sarah, Mary and Elsie; six grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.

She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters; Rose Loftin of Grinnell, Ida Simpson and Bertha Loftin of Montezuma; four sons, Ray, Cecil, Lester and Hughie of Montezuma; thirty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Gilbreaith of Montezuma and Mark Gilbreaith of Brooklyn; one sister, Mrs. Fred Dickey of West Des Moines; other relatives and many friends.
