KILLED IN PLANE CRASH

Mrs. Mary Snook has received word that her grandson, Pfc. Forrest Davis had been killed in a plane crash December 12th while in training in England. The sad news came to her Sunday morning. He was the son of Will Davis, formerly of this vicinity, and was married to Arline Walker, also formerly of this city but who now lives in Oskaloosa. Mr. Davis is working at Powell's Station in Tennessee.

Pfc. Davis was 22 years of age at the time of his death and was with a glider infantry outfit. He had been in service approximately one year. No details of the death have been received in this city. Mrs. Davis is to write Mrs. Snook as soon as she learns more of the accident.

This makes the second Davis lad to give his life for his country. His younger brother, Eldon (Red), was killed last summer in France. Two brothers, Ferrel, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vern, of this city, survive.

The four boys made their home with Mrs. Snook, who watched after their interests as if the lads were her own children.

Forrest attended school here for a time. When living in Oskaloosa he secured employment in Ottumwa and left for service from Mahaska County.
