SERVICES TUESDAY FOR MRS. MCBLAIN

Mrs. Bessie Rebecca (Ruby) McBlain, 84, of Grinnell died early Saturday morning at Grinnell General Hospital East.

The daughter of Eugene Webster and Mary Frances Bailey she was born September 9, 1884, at Council Grove, Kansas. After receiving her education in the Grinnell schools she was married to a Mr. Drake, who preceded her in death, and later to a Mr. Seth who also preceded her in death. There were no children from these marriages.

For a while Mrs. McBlain had lived in the Brooklyn vicinity. On July 1, 1929, she was united in marrige with John McBlain at Northwood, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1937.

For many years Mrs. McBlain had been employed at the former McMurry's Dry Goods Store in Grinnell. She is survived by two step-daughters and one step-son, Mrs. N.B. (Corrine) Slaughter of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Mrs. Fred (Jean) Schrader of Grinnell; and Vernon McBlain of Westminster, Calif. She also leaves several cousins, including Miss Martha McBlain and Mrs. Hesper Marlowe of Grinnell.

Funeral services for Mrs. McBlain will be held at 2 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Beebe of the Mayflower Home officiating.

Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner and casket bearers will be Champ Delk, Glen Bell, Carl Child, Gerald Phipps, Calvin Barns and George German.

Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery.
