PAUL RENFROW SERVICES HELD

Paul J. Renfrow, 58, of Washington, D.C., died Sunday afternoon at Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington where he had been a patient since April 20.

The son of Lee Augustus and Eva Pearl Craig Renfrow, he was born March 3, 1916. He attended the Grinnell schools and was graduated from Grinnell High School in 1934. He attended the American School of Opticians in Chicago and had practiced his profession in Washington for nearly 30 years.

During World War II, he was a mastor sergeant in the infantry and was involved in the invasion of France. He was a member of the Episcopal church in Washington, the Masonic Lodge and the Opticians Guild.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Edith) Smith of Chicago; Mrs. Carl (Evanel) Terrell of Savannah, Ga.; and Miss Alice Lee Renfrow of Suitland, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rudolph; and a sister, Helen Lemme.

Graveside services for Mr. Renfrow were held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Myron Harris, pastor of the Northside Friends Church, officiating. Veteran graveside rites were conducted by W.K. Richardson, chaplain, and Bill Davenport.

Pallbearers were Obie Criswell, George German, Booker Kiner, Art McDowell, Jim McNally and Steve White.

The Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
