ALICE LEE RENFROW

Alice Lee Renfrow, 91, of Chicago, formerly of Grinnell, died of cancer at her home Monday, March 10.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

She was born Jan. 19, 1906, at Red Wing, Minn., to Lee Augustus and Eva Pearl Craig Renfrow. The family moved to Grinnell where she was raised and graduated from Grinnell High School. She later graduated from Hampton University, Hampton, Va. Following her education, she worked for over 42 years at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. She had lived in Chicago for the past year.

She was a member of the Foundary United Methodist Church in Washington, the National Symphony Auxiliary and the American Association of University Women.

Surviving is a sister, Edith Renfrow Smith of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rudolph and Paul; and two sisters, Helen F. Lemme and Evanel Terrell.
