MRS. MARY JANE (BINEGAR) COHOE

Mary Jane Binegar was born in Green Co., Ohio, on March 1, 1830, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alonzo Lisk, at 1115 Spencer St., Oct. 9th, of the weakness of old age, being past 76 years old.

In 1849 she was married to O.P. Maxson of Cincinnati and in 1852 they came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Forest Home at which place they resided until her husband's death on Oct. 3, 1876. Later she was married to O.P. Cohoe of this city. By her first marriage were born nine children, two of whom died in infancy; the surviving seven were all present at the funeral services held at the Methodist church yesterday afternoon at half past four, conducted by her pastor the Rev. J.M. McClelland.

She became a member of the Methodist church during the pastorate of Rev. M. Bamford in 1892 and was for years an active and interested member. Failing health for several years made it impossible for her to attend church services but her faith failed not. When the call came she was prepared, having often expressed a desire to be taken to her eternal home.

She gave of her strength for her children and when age came upon her they returned the care which she had given them with loving hearts and in her last days she received the ministrations of their tender hands.
