LAST SERVICES FOR GEORGE W. PEARCE ARE HELD TUESDAY

Funeral services for George Washington Pearce, who passed away on Sunday were held at the Smith funeral home Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. W.F. Overhulser. Music was provided by Miss Ruth Bohstedt and Ed Bohstedt. Casket bearers were Ed Ahrens, Clyde Chadwell, Harry Crowder, Ed Elliott, James McNally and Mel Powers. Interment was made in the Westfield cemetery.

George W. Pearce was born May 14, 1866 and died Oct. 1, 1950, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 16 days. He grew to manhood in the Oak Grove community. He was the youngest of five children of Isaac and Nancy Pearce, who preceded him in death.

On Dec. 29, 1892, he was united in marriage with Cora Chase of Malcom. To this union seven children were born, the eldest of whom died in infancy. Surviving are Ruth Owens of Cleveland, O., Dwight of Grinnell, Worley of Osage, Naomi Sonderegger of Grinnell, Lucille Hoganson of Los Angeles, Calif., and Eulalia Haines of Kellogg. There are also five granddaughters, three great grandddaughters and two great grandsons and a host of relatives and friends.
