GEORGE W. PEARCE DIED ON SUNDAY; FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

George Washington Pearce of 913 1/2 Main street, passed away Sunday in the Poweshiek county hospital in Montezuma. He would have been 85 years old on his next birthday, May 14. He was born in the Oak Grove neighborhood near Grinnell, the son of Isaac Pearce and Nancy Faircloth Pearce. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Worley Pearce of Osage and Dwight A. Pearce of Grinnell. Mr. Pearce had worked for a number of years as a meat cutter in various Grinnell markets.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. W.F. Overhulser will be held at the Smith Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with interment in the Westfield cemetery.
