FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TODAY FOR MRS. CORA PEARCE

Mrs. Cora May Pearce, 89, Grinnell, died Tuesday morning at a local rest home.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Fry of Kellogg officiating.

Organ music was furnished by Mrs. Mabel Veber. Pallbearers were Virgil Doud, Henry Koger, William Munford, Don Vance, Fred Schrader, and Bernard Young.

Interment was in Westfield cemetery near Grinnell.

She was the daughter of Edward Ruthven and Sarah Bullock Chase and was born Sept. 23rd, 1871, in Malcom Township. She was united in marriage with George W. Pearce.

Seven children were born to this union: Carol Pearce, who died in infancy; Mrs. Ruth E. Owens of Phoenix, Ariz.; Dwight A. Pearce of Grinnell; Worley E. Pearce of Clear Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Naomi H. Sonderegger of Kellogg, Mrs. Lucille E. Hoganson of Rosemead, Calif.; and Mrs. Eulalia V. Haines of Kellogg.

One sister, Mrs. A.A. Legg of Mason City also survives. Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 1st, 1950.

Mrs. Pearce was a lifetime resident of this vicinity. She was a member of the Methodist church.
