EULALIA V. HAINES

Eulalia V. Haines, 85, of Grinnell, formerly of Kellogg, died Friday Nov. 20, at St. Francis Manor.

A graveside service was conducted Monday at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg, with the Rev. Robert Hinshaw, pastor of the Ashton Chapel of Baxter, officiating.

She was born May 20, 1913, in Grinnell to George and Cora Chase Pearce. She was raised in Grinnell and attended Grinnell schools.

On April 7, 1934, she was married to Harold E. Haines in Unionville, Mo. They lived in Grinnell. During World War II, she moved to California and worked in war plants. The couple returned to Grinnell after the war, and in 1946 moved to Kellogg. While living there, Mrs. Haines worked at Midwest Manufacturing Co. and in a local doctor's office. She later operated the Kellogg Cafe.

She was past president of the Jasper County Shrine Auxiliary, the Order of Eastern Star and the Kellogg Garden Club.

There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Richard; her parents; three sisters, Lucille Hoganson, Ruth Owens and Naomi Sonderegger; and three brothers, Carroll, Dwight and Worley Pearce.

Memorials may be made to the Kellogg Historical Society.
