OBITUARY

Liddie Belle Playle McMeekin was born in Poweshiek county on September 2nd, 1876, and died at Grinnell on February 28, 1956.

The daughter of Thomas Playle and Cynthia Ann Wymore, she had been a resident of Poweshiek county for most of her life. On February 8th, 1899, she was united in marriage with James McMeekin, who survives.

Survivors include a son, Robert of Grinnell; and two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Edith) Lemke and Mrs. Mary Sheeler, both of Grinnell. Also surviving is a sister, Bessie Rivers of Searsboro, and a brother, Byron Playle of Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted March 2nd from the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. E.E. Beattie, minister of the United Presbyterian church, officiating.

Music at the final services was provided by Mrs. Rhee Aumann and Pallbearers were Earl Lemke, Calvin Lemke, Leonard Lemke, Marvin Lemke, Ralph Lemke and Walter Lemke.

Interment was at Pleasant township cemetery in Ewart.
